Gratitude

Aprovecha el tiempo que falta.

Take advantage of the time that remains.

I feel like I've been saying this a lot recently. I only have a little over a week left of my normal routine here in Chile. I catch myself thinking about all of the things that I want to do yet while I am here. I have made a list. It's quite daunting to read. It's making me anxious thinking like that.

I must remember that I don't have to try to make everyday awesome. Sometimes it will just happen. Sometimes it's not the crazy, planned, once-in-a-lifetime things that make a day great. It sometimes is the normal, everyday things, like eating lunch with my family while listening to the crazy conversations that I understand half the time or seeing the sun over the ocean on the metro ride home from school. Or sometimes it's the random happenings, like having an enlightening conversation with a stranger, or figuring out the words to that song you've been wanting to know, or stumbling upon a great little cafe that you didn't know existed.

I have to remember this. We should all remember this. Be thankful for what you have been given. For where you are. For being alive and doing what you're doing.
Be thankful.

This is my roommate Stacie, brother Matias, friend Pepino and I with a truck we found in a playground. Great photo, Monserrat.
