Buns of Steel!

Yes, soon I will have buns of steel. Soon I'll have rock hard calves, thighs and buns.  Because of my legs, people will think I'm Venus and Serena's triplet, never mind the white skin. I will be able to hip press a baby elephant... or so it seems. I walk uphill 15 minutes multiple times each day to get home. Usually I'm sweating by the time I am at the top. And for some reason, I've a stitch in my side that won't seem to go away when I walk. But don't worry people. The human body is an incredible machine, and I will soon be able to conquer this hill ten times in one day with little more than a huff. Plus, tack on the distance I walk to get to places. Walking is my main mode of transport, and I get lost quite often these days trying to find my way around Valpo and Viña. I am a walking machine!

The food here is excellent. Some say the food is bland because there are no spicy flavors, but it is very delicious and varied. With the semi-tropical climate, fruits and vegetables are plentiful all of the time. I have eaten more avocado in this last week than I have in my entire life. Bread is also a staple, and I love it. I think if I had to pick one food to eat for the rest of my life it would be bread. Every meal has a lot of carbohydrates with all of this bread or white rice. Seafood is seen often as well because of the city's proximity to the ocean. The locals here usually eat a small breakfast, a large lunch around 2pm, and a small dinner called "once" around 9pm. My favorite Chilean foods that I have tried here so far are empanadas and completos. Empanadas are like hot pockets, but the dough is hand made, filled with cheese, meat, onions, or a combination thereof, and fried. Completos are hot dogs, but with more toppings! They usually eat them here with diced tomatoes, avocado, and lots of mayonnaise. Sound good?

Hasta luego, amigos!

  1. ¡¡¡Aaaahahahahahaha!!!
